tango is doing very well....we have been riding a lot lately.....i started using training forks on him to keep him from throwing his head alot he is a very different horse thats for sure..not very smooth yet but he will get there.......
He is very handsome My daughter would be jealous. She is going to an equine hospital for an internship this summer. She will be working in the reproductive section. Embryo transfers to a surrogate and so forth.
training forks attach to the strap underneath the horse and it keeps their head tucked so that they cannot throw thier head up in the air...it gives you more control over the horse...they are working wonders on Tango and I hope to get him where he doesn't need them anymore...
Horses with both eyes covered? Are you referring to horses that are pulling carts or wagons? Like the horses on the plaza? Those are called blinders and they are used to keep the horses vision focused on whats ahead.....as far as horses roaming with both their eyes covered Im thinking you saw horses with fly masks on. I use a fly mask on my horse...helps keep him from getting as sunburnt around his eye as well

DeleteThat's great! What is a training fork?
ReplyDeleteNot sure what a training fork is but I'm excited that it's working.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes see horses roaming with both their eyes covered. Any reason for this?
